FAQs

Do you charge a travel fee?

If you live in the south of England (where do we draw the border!), there is no travel fee. for weddings and events further afield, then there may be a reasonable fee, which will be communicated before any contract is signed!

Do you require a deposit?

To secure the date, I require a 50% deposit, to be paid as soon as the contract is agreed. The remainder of the fee should be paid 4 weeks before the big day!

Do you have good camera gear?

I use some of the best camera gear available.

For those interested - I use a Nikon Z6iii an my primary camera, and a Nikon Z5 as my secondary, paired with native Nikon lenses, including a 85mm 1.8, 70-200mm 2.8 and a 40mm F2.

For those not interested - They are good cameras!

How do I receive my photos?

Within 6 weeks (usually before), I will provide a link to your digital gallery, where you can view, and download all your images free of charge.
You can also share this link with your loved ones, and they can download any pictures too!

Can you photograph other events, besides weddings?

Sure! Alongside my wedding work, I take photos of sports, engagement shoots and events.
Drop me a message to see examples of my other work, and to see if i can cater to your event!

Why are wedding photographers so expensive?

Before I became a wedding photographer, I thought the same - £1000 for one days work!? But now I can see it from a different side.

Each wedding is usually over 30 hours work, including the post-production, and all the planning beforehand. Pair that with all the outgoings (tax, subscriptions, insurance, fuel ETC) and the cost of equipment (my camera bag is worth more than my car!)
Also, Weddings are largely seasonal, meaning busy summers and quieter winters.

Considering all this, I think I should charge more!

Do I get a contract?

Yes! Everyone gets a clear contract, with all terms included, which gets signed by both parties BEFORE any money exchanges hands!

Can you accommodate same-sex or LGBTQ+ couples?

Of course! Love is love!

What if your camera gear fails?

I always come to your wedding with 2 cameras, at least 4 lenses, 6 camera batteries, 6 SD cards and a load of lighting equipment.
Both my cameras save any pictures taken to 2 different memory cards at the same time, and I upload your photos as soon as I get home, to my computer and to the cloud, and I don't overwrite your memory cards until i'm done with the post-production.

Your photos are safe!

Are there any hidden charges?

No! I am open and honest with all my charges, and you wont pay a penny more than your agreed contracts says!

I do offer prints on my website, which cost extra, but if you don't want them, no problems, you can still download your photos for free!

Do you offer Video or content creation?

No, I don't offer Videography or content creation packages! I am happy to recommend some I trust, and I am happy to work alongside others.

Why don't you charge per hour like many other photographers I see?

For me, I don't see the point in charging per hour. Just about every wedding I have been at has not run to schedule, and I would hate to have to leave before the first dance, due to a timing issue.
Unless we agree otherwise, I will be there for your first dance, and a few more songs later.
